At MSPO 2025, Poland’s defense sector revealed the Rosomak-L, an extended-hull variant of the Rosomak 8×8 armored vehicle, fitted with the Turra 30 SA remotely operated turret. Showcased by Rosomak S.A. under the umbrella of the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ), the upgraded platform highlights advances in firepower, digitalized sensors, and survivability solutions for high-intensity battlefield conditions.
The Rosomak-L is a stretched version of the proven Rosomak platform, itself derived from the Finnish Patria AMV. Its lengthened hull provides additional space for troops, mission equipment, or modular payloads. Central to its firepower is the Slovak-designed Turra 30 SA turret, a 1,600 kg remote weapon station compatible with both wheeled and tracked platforms. The turret equips the vehicle with a 30mm automatic cannon, a coaxial 7.62mm machine gun, and twin SPIKE LR/LR2 anti-tank missile launchers, giving it the ability to strike both armored vehicles and fortified targets beyond 4 km.
The turret incorporates multi-mission radar, sniper detection, acoustic gunshot sensors, and advanced fire-control systems, ensuring accurate engagement in day/night and adverse weather scenarios. Protection reaches STANAG 4569 Level 3 for the base vehicle and Level 1 for the turret, balancing weight with effectiveness. Designed with Active Protection System (APS) readiness, the Rosomak-L is prepared for future integration against modern aerial and top-attack threats.
The unveiling of Rosomak-L reflects Poland’s broader modernization drive following the war in Ukraine. With defense budgets surging, Warsaw is accelerating the renewal of its mechanized fleet while strengthening cooperation with NATO partners — in this case, with Slovak industry through EVPÚ Defence. Beyond domestic use, the Rosomak-L has potential as an export product, offering NATO armies a highly mobile, interoperable, and heavily armed solution for modern conflicts.
