Skyborne Technologies Unveils Four-Legged Combat Robot CODiAQ

Brisbane-based Skyborne Technologies showcased its four-legged weapons platform, CODiAQ (Controller-Operated Direct-Action Quadruped), at AUSA 2025. The system combines modular payloads with AI-assisted targeting to provide high-mobility, direct-fire capabilities.

Multiple Launcher Options and Funding

CODiAQ was displayed with HAVOC 40mm and CHAOS 12GA launchers. The project is funded through the OASD(SO/LIC) Irregular Warfare Capabilities Development and Innovation Directorate. It is designed as a lightweight, low-cost platform controllable by a single operator.

Autonomous Mobility and Rugged Terrain Performance

CODiAQ can operate autonomously across rough terrain, stairways, wooded areas, and urban obstacles. With an IP67 rating, it is dust- and water-resistant. Its onboard Targeting Electronics Optical Box (TEOB) supports optical recognition and real-time targeting algorithms for both day and night operations.

Rapid Training and Human-Machine Teaming

Skyborne emphasizes that the system requires only a few days of training. CODiAQ can be quickly integrated into infantry units and acts as a force multiplier for tactical human-machine teaming. The platform can also integrate with Skyborne’s Cerberus MI sUAS system for coordinated robotic operations.

Modular Weapons and Mission Flexibility

CODiAQ’s modular design allows adaptation for lethal and less-lethal payloads depending on mission needs. The system is already undergoing evaluations with U.S. government partners for irregular warfare, reconnaissance, and mobile fire support roles.
