New Partnership Between ASELSAN and Hanwha Aerospace: SEDA 100 System to Be Integrated into South Korean Armored Vehicles

ASELSAN, one of the leading companies in the Turkish defense industry, has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with South Korea-based defense firm Hanwha Aerospace. The agreement aims to integrate ASELSAN’s domestically developed SEDA 100 Gunshot Detection System into Hanwha’s next-generation armored vehicles.

This cooperation marks a significant step in ASELSAN’s strategy to expand its global technology portfolio and establish strategic defense partnerships. According to the agreement, the SEDA 100 system is planned to be incorporated into selected armored platforms that will be developed for the South Korean Armed Forces.

About the SEDA 100 System

Developed entirely by ASELSAN engineers, the SEDA 100 Gunshot Detection System is equipped with advanced acoustic sensors capable of detecting the direction of incoming supersonic projectiles. The system is designed to operate with high accuracy even under adverse environmental and weather conditions, providing tactical advantage to security forces on the ground.

With its Geographic Information System (GIS)-based structure, SEDA 100 delivers real-time location and threat direction information to the user. Thanks to its user-friendly design, the system can be integrated into armored vehicles without the need for calibration and is compatible with existing mission systems.

Integrating this technology into South Korea’s armored platforms is expected to enhance regional defense capabilities and provide a new level of situational awareness on the battlefield.
