Norway will deploy F-35 fighter jets to Rzeszów, Poland, this autumn to support Ukraine’s defense amid ongoing Russian attacks.
The Norwegian Ministry of Defence announced that the deployment aims to assist Ukraine’s defense efforts under Russian assault and to protect Polish airspace from potential Russian aggression.
F-35s to Be Stationed This Autumn
According to the Ministry, the deployment scheduled for this autumn will strengthen NATO’s air and missile defense capabilities.
“Helping Ensure Aid to Ukraine Reaches Its Destination”
The official statement said, “The mission supports the protection of Polish airspace and maintains Rzeszów as an important logistical hub for aid to Ukraine.” Defense Minister Tore O. Sandvik added, “This is a vital contribution. We are helping ensure that aid to Ukraine reaches its destination and that Ukraine can continue its fight for freedom.” The operation was thoroughly assessed to ensure national readiness and security.
