Edge Autonomy Delivers Additional Penguin Drones to Ukrainian Forces

Redwire Corporation has confirmed that its subsidiary, Edge Autonomy, has delivered a new batch of Penguin uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These platforms have been a key asset for reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition missions since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022.

Contracted directly by the Ukrainian military, the Penguin UAS is prized for its long endurance, rapid deployment capability, and ease of operation in contested environments.

“Our strong presence in the Baltics and significant regional investments uniquely position us to support Ukraine’s fight for freedom and sovereignty,” said Edge Autonomy President Steve Adlich. “We value our Ukrainian partners and look forward to deepening our cooperation both in Ukraine and across Europe.”

Edge Autonomy maintains an office in Ukraine, where its local team works closely with soldiers to adapt to real-time mission demands and advance system capabilities. The Penguin C UAS was specifically named in the U.S. security assistance packages for Ukraine in July 2023 and December 2024.

The company, with nearly 30 years of technology experience, supplies uncrewed systems, advanced optics, and energy solutions to the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nations. Its parent company, Redwire, operates as a leading space and defense technology integrator, developing autonomous systems and multi-domain solutions using AI and digital engineering.
