On the morning of November 19, 2025, Russia conducted a large-scale missile and drone assault targeting western and central Ukraine. Cities including Ternopil, Lviv, Dnipro, and Burshtyn were hit, with a multi-story residential building in Ternopil destroyed and two confirmed fatalities reported in the early hours.
Ukrainian authorities reported explosions in Khmelnytskyi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Lviv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions shortly before dawn. Ukraine’s air defense units responded to a multi-vector attack involving strategic bombers and cruise missiles.
Local officials stated, “A multi-story building in Ternopil was destroyed during the Russian attack on the morning of November 19. At this time, two deaths are confirmed, but the number may rise as debris is cleared.”
The Ukrainian military said more than 48 cruise and ballistic missiles were launched, including both air- and sea-launched types. Strategic bombers such as the Tu-160 and Tu-95 were deployed, capable of firing long-range Kh-101 and Kh-555 missiles.
Footage shared by local media shows smoke plumes and flashes consistent with missile impacts, while emergency responders worked across multiple sites to assess damage and search for survivors.
The Ukrainian Air Force has not yet confirmed the number of missiles or drones intercepted. Nevertheless, the strike represents one of the largest aerial attacks on western Ukraine in recent weeks, highlighting the continued vulnerability of cities and infrastructure far from the front lines.
