Spain’s Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares has reiterated his country’s support for Ukraine’s European Union integration process. Albares held a phone call with Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Taras Kachka. Posting on social media about the conversation, Albares said they discussed Ukraine’s EU integration progress, adding: “Ukraine is part of our family and shares our values. Spain supported the launch of negotiations during our EU Council presidency and continues to back the advancement of this process. Europe’s security and sovereignty are also decided in Ukraine.”
Kachka, commenting on the call, stated: “Spain continues to be a close friend of Ukraine. In our discussion with Foreign Minister Albares, we addressed Ukraine’s agenda on the path to EU membership and agreed on the importance of key decisions for Ukraine. We are grateful to Spain for its steadfast support in defense, financial, and humanitarian assistance.”
