Turkey’s defense and aerospace industry marked a remarkable achievement in the first half of 2025 by gaining strong momentum in exports. During the January–June period, sector exports increased by 25% compared to the same period last year, reaching $3.603 billion.
Focusing on June alone, exports rose by 10.4% compared to June of the previous year, amounting to $623 million. Over the last 12 months, total exports climbed by 23.1% to $7.454 billion, reaching one of the highest levels ever recorded.
In a statement from the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), it was emphasized that this success was not a coincidence but the outcome of a strategically driven export policy. The Presidency highlighted that in addition to increasing the number of exporting companies, efforts are ongoing to diversify the product portfolio with a focus on high technology.
The statement also underlined that the Turkish defense industry is expanding its presence not only regionally but also on a global scale. It was noted that international partnerships have been deepened and that the production ecosystem — spanning from large-scale corporations to SMEs — is being reshaped around sustainable exports, global competitiveness, and domestic manufacturing.
The statement expressed gratitude to all companies, executives, and workers who contributed to the sector, which now accounts for approximately 3% of Turkey’s total exports. It also reaffirmed the commitment to continue the national technology initiative with determination.
The Presidency concluded with the message: “We move forward with a vision powered by the nation and guided by the future,” drawing attention to Turkey’s growing global presence in the defense sector.
