Ukrainian Drone Strike Targets Russian Oil Refinery in Volgograd

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have reported a drone attack on the “Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka” oil refinery in Russia’s Volgograd region, owned by the energy giant Lukoil. In a statement posted on the military’s official Telegram channel, it was confirmed that the strike triggered large fires at the facility.

According to Ukraine, the refinery supplies fuel to the Russian military. It processes over 15 million tonnes of oil annually — about 5.6% of Russia’s total yearly oil production. The facility is said to play a crucial role in the logistics of the Russian Armed Forces, producing diesel, gasoline, and aviation fuel.
