Kosovo Receives Early Delivery of Türkiye’s Skydagger Kamikaze Drones

Kosovo’s Security Force (KSF) has taken early delivery of the Turkish-made Skydagger FPV loitering munitions, expanding its unmanned strike capabilities. The systems, produced by Baykar, were originally scheduled for delivery in January 2026 under a contract signed in December 2024, but arrived three months ahead of schedule in October 2025.

Thousands of ready-to-fly Skydagger drones were shipped to Pristina International Airport, marking one of the largest FPV drone acquisitions in the Balkans. A number of KSF operators have already completed training, allowing the systems to reach operational readiness in a short time frame.

Designed as compact short-range attack drones, Skydagger units carry small explosive payloads capable of neutralizing both stationary and mobile targets. The platform features a range of about 10 kilometers, a top speed of roughly 140 km/h, and endurance close to 20 minutes.

The new systems will operate alongside Kosovo’s existing Bayraktar TB2 and U.S.-made Puma drones, forming an integrated ecosystem where long-range reconnaissance platforms detect targets and FPV drones execute final strikes with speed and precision.

This development underscores Kosovo’s transition toward a scalable, cost-effective, and agile drone force built around a single supply and training network. Unifying procurement, logistics, and software support under Baykar’s framework is expected to enhance sustainment efficiency and reduce integration challenges.

With the Skydagger’s induction, Kosovo strengthens its deterrent posture — relying not on the size of its platforms, but on the ability to strike fast, accurately, and repeatedly.
