At IDEF 2025 in Istanbul, Nurol Makina unveiled a game-changing development in tactical mobility: the NMS 4×4 armored vehicle equipped with the Venom LR remote weapon system. This integration marks a major step forward in Turkey’s defense capabilities, merging precision strike power with agile protection suited for asymmetric conflict zones.
The NMS 4×4, developed by Nurol Makina, is a multi-role armored platform designed for high mobility and mission versatility. The featured variant is equipped with the Venom LR — a cutting-edge remote weapon station originally developed by EOS Defence Systems and now licensed for production in Türkiye by Canik Arms, a subsidiary of Samsun Yurt Savunma (SYS). The result is a fusion of Australian design and Turkish manufacturing, bringing new strength to the local defense ecosystem.
With the Venom LR on board, the NMS gains the ability to engage soft and lightly armored threats while on the move. The system includes dual-axis stabilization, auto-tracking, and integrated thermal and day optics. It delivers precise fire at ranges up to 2,000 meters and supports a range of weapon types, including 30mm chain guns and anti-tank guided missiles.
Beyond firepower, the platform delivers robust protection and expands its role to include urban warfare, convoy defense, and reconnaissance. Proven in missions across Africa and the Middle East, the NMS 4×4 has evolved through real-world deployments and continuous customer feedback, making it one of the most combat-proven platforms in its class.
Venom LR, already in use by Australian and Southeast Asian armed forces, enters the Turkish market via Canik Arms’ licensed production. This not only increases availability but ensures compatibility with NATO-standard ammunition and C4ISR networks. It also provides a cost-effective, scalable alternative to Western systems.
Compared to traditional turret systems like those on the French Arquus Sherpa or UAE’s Nimr Ajban, the NMS-Venom LR combination stands out for its modularity, precise targeting, and seamless system integration — all while maintaining high operator safety and situational awareness.
Strategically, this integration underscores Türkiye’s growing capability to deliver turnkey defense solutions based on indigenous production and international collaboration. For NATO members and allied nations across the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa, it offers a compelling, interoperable alternative to legacy Western platforms.
Financially, Nurol Makina’s NMS 4×4 has already seen significant export success, with deliveries to countries such as Hungary and Qatar. Although the Venom LR variant is newly introduced, it builds upon these existing partnerships, with recent deals — such as a 2024 contract with an undisclosed African country — likely to evolve into future integrations.
The NMS 4×4 with the Canik-produced Venom LR is more than a new product — it is a strategic statement about Türkiye’s role in shaping the future of ground warfare. As the defense landscape increasingly values agility, autonomy, and lethality, this platform represents a mature, scalable solution for next-generation operations.
