Russia-based Atomstroyexport (ASE JSC) has signed a new supply contract for Hungary’s ongoing Paks II Nuclear Power Plant project, covering sampling compartments for Units 5 and 6.
According to official procurement records, the contract was concluded on September 17, 2025, following an international open bidding process. Among the two submitted offers, West Engineering LLC, also based in Russia, was selected as the winning bidder.
The scope of supply includes critical infrastructure components such as ventilation equipment, pressure vessels, filtration systems, connection boxes, and valve assemblies, all designed to meet the technical requirements of the Paks II units.
Evaluation criteria for the tender placed the highest weight (90%) on contract price, while also considering the contractor’s experience and the technical competence of the equipment manufacturer.
Atomstroyexport, a leading Russian nuclear engineering company and a key subsidiary of Rosatom, continues to serve as the main contractor for many of Rosatom’s international projects. The Paks II Nuclear Power Plant is viewed as a cornerstone in Hungary’s strategy for achieving greater energy independence.
The contract value has not been disclosed, in accordance with the confidentiality provisions of the EPC agreement dated December 9, 2014.
